Dress Code
Ballet class uniforms help to instill discipline and uniformity, as well as allowing the teacher to observe and correct a students line and technique without distracting attire. We have chosen different colors for each level.
The selected Texas Metropolitan Ballet dance studio leotards can be found at Killeen's premier dance store
Criston's Dancewear located at 5516 MLK Blvd., Killeen, TX 76543. Approved styles & colors per level will be kept in stock by the store. Other approved styles are available to order. Criston's also stocks shoes and tights for all levels.
The teacher or director has the final say on all dance clothing, including the style and fit of ballet slippers and pointe shoes. Please check the return policy and leave the tags on until the article has been approved.
PLEASE DO NOT PURCHASE LEOTARDS UNTIL AN INSTRUCTOR HAS CONFIRMED THE STUDENT'S LEVEL

Students may wear their academy class level leotards or black leotards. - Undecorated (excepting TMB logo). Short-sleeved, tank or camisole (no crisscross straps, or halter tops).

Pink canvas ballet slippers (split-sole or full sole).

* ADULT BALLET

Black leotards are preferred.

Style is open to personal preference, though we ask that you not wear halter-styles as they can encourage poor posture habits.

If a leotard is worn, it is suitable to wear pink tights.
-
Sweat pants, exercise pants and clothing is also acceptable.
-
Skirts or warm-ups are allowed.
-
Pink, white, or black ballet slippers are required for all dancers (canvas or leather).

Hair should be secured off the face and neck, in a bun, if possible (please, no ponytails). Bangs and shorter hair should be fastened away from the face, length permitting.
* JAZZ/MODERN

Class level colored leotard (no crisscross straps, or halter tops).
-
Pink tights or dancers may wear solid black dance pants.
-
Dancers may wear either pink canvas ballet slippers or jazz shoes for Jazz. Barefoot, socks or other covering for the ball of foot may be worn for Modern. (Please be aware that socks have a tendency to buff the floor making it slippery.)

* STRETCH & STRENGTH

Comfortable, conservative work out clothes that allow for full range of movement. Please - no bare mid-drifts or short-shorts.

Black or dark colored exercise shorts (no pockets) or black tights (gentlemen should consider either dance briefs or a dance belt)
